We minimise causing unnecessary harm to our planet while maximising warmth for our customers. To do so, we focus on reducing emissions and water usage, as well as implementing inclusive working conditions in our community. At Stoov we aim to become carbon neutral by 2030.

When you turn down your heating as you turn on your Stoov, you avoid emissions. Thereby you compensate for the emissions caused by the manufacturing, transport, and charging of your product during its lifespan, which is at least 5 years. On average, the avoided emissions outweigh the gross emissions after 1 year and 8 months.
Stoov's five impact pillars are fundamental to achieving our overarching strategy of becoming carbon neutral by 2030, while simultaneously ensuring our impact extends across all other facets of the company. At Stoov, we strive to minimise unnecessary harm and maximise warmth. Our impact strategy underpins all of Stoov’s initiatives and is built upon five core pillars.
At Stoov, we are committed to offsetting our emissions, and we do this in collaboration with ForestNation. We plant trees and conserve biodiversity in Tanzania, which promotes a greener environment and provides employment opportunities for the local community.
For every ton of CO2 emitted during our logistics process, we plant 10 trees. In a tree's lifetime it is estimated to absorb 1 ton of CO2 and so we plant 10 in order to help offset as much of our carbon emissions as possible.
As of January 2023 we are officially a B Corp, yay! Sustainability is at the heart of what we do and is woven into Stoov's DNA. Our new B Corp status is both a celebration of our commitment to the planet and a reminder to always strive to do better to improve the way in which our business is making an impact.

Today, I am still inspired by the saying which my mum repeatedly mentioned to me during my childhood: “deuren dicht: we stoken niet voor de vogeltjes”. This means that you should close the door behind you to keep the house warm, instead of warming the birds outside. This message has always been the essence of Stoov: we strive for more efficient heating. After all, we warm people, not the planet.
